If a recent illness, injury or surgery has impacted your ability to perform important basic functions and live independently, we can help. Fredericksburg Health & Rehab is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center providing compassionate care to the Fredericksburg, VA community. Our evidence-based occupational therapy services can help you regain function so you can live as independently as possible for as long as possible.
Who Do We Help?
Our occupational therapy services help people who have lost some of their ability to perform important functions like eating, bathing and dressing, and activities like cooking, laundry, cleaning or hobbies. This could include individuals who:
- Were injured in an accident
- Suffered a stroke, traumatic brain injury or a spinal cord injury
- Experienced limb injury or loss
- Struggle with carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis
- Have fractured bones
- Are recovering from surgery
Restoring Function, Independence and Overall Well-Being
We evaluate the impact of the patient’s surgery, illness or injury on their ability to perform their normal activities at home and at work, as well as the impact on their hobbies and recreational activities. We then create an individualized therapy plan designed to restore function and independence.
Once a plan is developed, we implement the occupational therapy plan, which focuses on:
- Improving everyday functions such as self-care, housekeeping tasks, and leisure and social activities
- Providing activity modifications and recommending assistive devices to make performing tasks easier
- Helping individuals achieve and maintain independence for as long as possible
- Improving overall well-being by enhancing an individual’s ability to take part in activities that bring enjoyment.
At Fredericksburg Health and Rehab, our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve by providing competent, compassionate and outcomes-oriented care. Our comprehensive rehabilitation services can help you get back to living life on your terms.
